Which national park has the largest mountain in North America? Come to our interior exhibit to learn more about Mt. Mckinley and Denali National Park. In this section of the natural history exhibit, you will see displays ranging from grizzly bears to wolves. There are also historical artifacts such as Athabaskan mittens made of wolf fur, moccasins made of moose hide, and a basket made of birchbark stitched with spruce root. In addition to this display, there is a fish wheel model crafted by Edy Norton that the 1904 miners used on the Tanana River. The video exhibits include short informational films such as Denali Wildlife, Wilderness Recipe for Grayling, Migratory Stopover, Wilderness: From the Eye of the Eagle, Frozen Gold, and Nenana Raft Trip. So come and learn more about Alaska's vast interior.

Mushing in Alaska Did You Know?
Alaska's state sport is dog mushing. The Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race runs from Fairbanks to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, alternating each year in February, while the Iditarod Sled Dog Race runs from Willow to Nome during the first weekend of March each year.
