Which island in Alaska is famous for it's rich bounty of crabs? At Kodiak Island, the crab festival happens every year to showcase the abundance of crabs that reside on this island. In addition to this delicious island dweller, the southcentral area of Alaska has a lot to offer. The southcentral area is home to cities such as Anchorage, Homer,, and Valdez. Some of the most stunning areas are located here such as Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, Chugach State Park and National Forest, and Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. Wildlife such as caribou, dall sheep, red squirrels, martens, wolverines, northern gashawk, and honed puffin reside in the southcentral Alaska.
