The Alaska Public Lands Information Centers in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Ketchikan, and Tok are proud to present a variety of educational programs, kits, and materials to assist teachers and youth leaders in meeting educational standards and curriculum needs. These interagency centers represent a local and statewide resource in teaching concepts in science, geography, mathematics, language arts, art, life skills, employability, and more.

The Alaska Public Lands Information Center in Anchorage, managed by the National Park Service, presently acts as a venue for the NPS Urban Education Program. The facility is located at 605 West 4th Avenue (at the corner of 4th and F Street) in the Old Federal Building in downtown Anchorage. The Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center, where the Fairbanks Alaska center is located.

The Alaska Public Lands Information Center in Fairbanks, also managed by the National Park Service, offers programs, kits, special events, and other educational resources.  The center is located at 101 Dunkel St.  in the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center, next to the Wendell Street Bridge in downtown Fairbanks. The Southeast Discovery Center

The U.S. Forest Service manages the public lands information center in Ketchikan. Called the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center, the facility offers a menu of educational experiences as well. For more information go to http://alaskacenters.gov/ketchikan-for-teachers.cfm



The Tok Public Lands Information Center

The Tok Public Lands Information Center partners with the Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge in providing educational resources to the community. For more information go to:

A bull moose on the Yukon Delta NWR Did You Know?
Moose are the largest member of the deer family and can be seen throughout Alaska. Their antlers, which are shed each year, are covered in a thin layer of velvet as they grow, before being rubbed off during the mating season.
