The Alaska Public Lands Information Center (APLIC) offers trip planning information and displays of beadwork and animal and fish mounts
Summer Hours: June 1st to Labor Day

Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. 

 

Winter Hours: Labor Day to Memorial Day

Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.  

 

*The Tok Center is closed on weekends and holidays.

Standing four feet tall at the shoulder, muskox are essentially unchanged since the last ice age, 10,000 years ago. They have sixteen inch long guard hairs that insulate them against the cold and their undercoat, called quiviut (kiv-yoot), can be knitted to make hats and scarves.
