U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Alaska Region

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is a bureau within the Department of the Interior. Their mission is to work with others to conserve, protect and enhance fish, wildlife and plants and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people. 

The National Wildlife Refuge System's mission, within the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, is to administer a network of lands and waters for the conservation, management and where appropriate restoration of fish, wildlife and plant resources and their habitats within the United States for the benefit of present and future generations of Americans.

At our website you'll find recreational opportunities on National Wildlife Refuges such as hunting, fishing, wildlife viewing, photography, interpretation, and environmental education. You will also find public cabins for rent, canoe trails to paddle, and visitor centers to visit in person. Also at the site you can access other U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service programs dealing with climate change, endangered species, federal fisheries, federal subsistence, just to name a few.
