Watch Bears in Southeast Alaska

Photographer with three bears ahead in wetland.

You do not need to hike into the depths of the backcountry to see a bear in Alaska. In the Tongass National Forest there are three areas that accommodate visitors specifically for bear viewing. The Pack Creek Brown Bear and Fish Creek Bear Viewing Areas and the Anan Wildlife Observatory Site are all incredible areas to see black and brown bears in their natural habitat.
